One More Project...check

Before the day gets away from me, I thought I'd share with you a project, one of many, that I finished up for the show at Monticello.

While out hunting for treasure I found an old mirror.

I thought it looked like it had potencial so I bought it and took it home with me.

Try and ignore the mess around the mirror.

Right now this is my world, projects and inventory everywhere.

Only 6 more days and I get to load it up and start my set up.

Anyway, back to the mirror, it was "chunky" and big, love it...

I decided to prime it first as I wasn't quite sure if it would take the paint or not, then I painted it.

It was pretty white and I wanted to tone it down a bit so I got out my dark wax and started waxing.

I really like how it looks now.

The sanding and waxing brought out more of the details in the mirror.

That's one more project off my list.

If you're in th area Monticello's Fall Show will open on September 7th.

It's going to be a good one!

Random White Wednesday

Today I decided to just post random pictures of white things around the house.

I'm busy pricing items getting ready for the Fall Show.

While doing that I photographed some of the items I came across.

Old chippy door knobs.

I'm loving these bowls.

The bottom reads, Made in England, Pudding Basim.

And last, a pretty frame I bought to house a couple of my son's senior pictures.

I heart him!

Finds!

Lavender, I sure do enjoy it.

Before every Spring Show I'm on the lookout for Lavender plants.

The smell is beautiful as well as the color.

Because of this I've got many Lavender plants in my yard.

This week-end while out treasure hunting my #1 came across this sweet old beaker holder.

I'm quite confident that is not what you call it but I'm not a scientific girl.

I have to give credit where credit is due, my #1 actually found it.

I love it when he shops with me as he looks in every nook and cranny and finds some pretty wonderful things.

It was a fun treasure hunting week-end!

I wanted to let you know I'm offering 10% off in my Etsy store utill the 19th just enter the code "MSR01".

FACEBOOK

Have you been watching the Olympics?

I have! My evenings have been full of swimming, gymnastics, track etc...

Loving it!

I'm not a big sports fan normally but when the Olympics come around, I'm in.

I even got my cable TV hooked up finally.

One thing I've been working on is a FACEBOOK account for My Shabby Roses.

I finally got one set up.

I'm loving it.

It's so easy to go on and post a little someting or add a picture here and there.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make a FACEBOOK button for my blog.

So at this point if you want to join me on FACEBOOK just click "HERE".
