Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Psalms 95:2,3

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

A New Baby!

This morning I woke up to a wonderful phone call. My niece had gone into the hospital at midnight with contractions. We were all so excited! I actually got the call at midnight but I had gone to bed already, probably a good thing as I would have had a hard time sleeping. Finally at 10:00am my sister called to say that my niece had had her baby! A baby girl weighing in at 6 lbs 3 oz., and 18" long, just a tiny thing! I am so anxious to see her. Unfortunately, she is 5 hours away and it will be a little while till I can take that trip. But,I'm anxiously awaiting pictures!

I just wanted to do a quick post as it's been way too long since the last one. This week I've been pulling out all of my Christmas things and frantically pricing everything. The house is a huge mess and I can't wait till it disappears next week. I love to buy and the hunt for the treasure but when it comes to pricing items, It's just not my favorite thing!

Here is a picture of all the boxes that are marked and ready to go. My son was so sweet and organized this room so I could get all the boxes back in it and ready to go. And yes, this looks 100% better then it was looking! He made my day!

My studio is full of Christmas also as I have been packaging things, printing labels, sewing, gluing etc...

Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing what is going on.

A Star Is Born! Or At Least A Proud Parent!

As many of you know my son has been home-schooled these past couple of years. But being the social guy that he is, I wanted him to be able to participate in other activities with kids his own age. One of the activities that I signed him up for this year was with a group called Christian Youth Theater. This is the first time he has participated in it. During the first 10 weeks of school he has been taking an acting class. He is a kid that is oozing with personality and acting seemed the obvious choice. He loves it! Last night was his "show case" where they were able to show what they have learned over the past 10 weeks. He had to perform lines from Shakespeare and also another play, "The Importance of Being Ernest". He did so well! I'm so proud of him. I didn't get a good picture of him up on the stage but here is one right before the program started. I could never have performed in front of people when I was in high school. I would have just died!

These kids did a great job! I didn't have him audition this time for the production of Anne of Green Gables. I wasn't ready to sign my life away with all the requirements for which each parent is responsible. But I told him he could audition for the winter show which will be "The Chronicles of Narnia". I know he is looking forward to it.

Yesterday was a fun day! I didn't have to work because of Veteran's Day so I was busy crafting. My best hours are in the morning and I was able to get so much done. It was wonderful! I stayed in my PJ's until 12:00. I drank a lot of coffee and did a lot of crafting.
Quite a few months ago my #1 and I went to one of our favorite stores and came away with some wonderful and large chandelier prisms. We only paid a $1.00 for each! I wasn't sure what I would do with them but a Christmas project was on the horizon. So yesterday I pulled them out and started sprucing them up for Christmas. Here is a picture of the final product. Sweet crystal ornaments!

If you look deep within all that ribbon you will see the crystal prisms.
Thank you for stopping by!

Things have been pretty busy around here. My house seems to be filling up with furniture as well as boxes of Christmas items and oh so many craft projects. I have less then a month now before the Christmas show at Monticello. I hope you will be able to come and see all the beautiful Christmas displays and the amazing participants. One thing I am really looking forward to is getting my house back. It will be nice to take all this furniture and the boxes of Christmas items to the shop. I am so looking forward to that! I've put a cut off date for crafting as the 15th because it always takes so much time to price everything. That is not my favorite things to do. I'd rather buy and craft!
I was able to get in a few estate sales this week-end. I'm sorry but I don't have a lot of pictures but here are a few I took. I love the look of vintage books and I was able to pick up quite a few of them this week-end. Some dating back to the 1800's. I'm afraid I just buy books that I think have a good look to them. I'm not someone who knows anything about books. Maybe it's a "girl thing". I just buy them if they're pretty or have a certain look that I'm after.

I picked up this sweet little vintage doll stroller. I think it will look great filled with a bunch of old Christmas items. This will go to the show.

One of my most favorite finds were these vintage flash cards, from 1959.

Aren't they fun? So many great possibilities. Well, I'm off again. My craft room is calling me!

Well, we're dropping like flies around here. It must be the flu season. My #1 just got over the flu this past week. Now my son has it. It's a miserable cold and fever, not to fun! I haven't got hit yet! I'm running as fast as I can. So far, so good, I seem to be ahead of it. I did feel a need to clean the house though. I do love a clean house when you're sick! Not that I'm going to get sick, but just in case it's a little faster then me.
